HISTORY: LeBron James becomes the leading scorer in NBA history!

NBA — Author of 38 points against the Thunder, LeBron James is the new “King” of scoring ahead of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

LeBron James did it! Long considered untouchable, and in place since April 5, 1984, the regular-season points record of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar finally fell this Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at The Angels during the match between Lakers and the Thunder.

It was just before the end of the third quarter, on a mid-distance shot, that the “King” ascended the scoring throne. In an electric atmosphere, similar to that of Kobe Bryant’s retirement in April 2016.

Immediately, the game stopped, “LBJ” was able to exult and all the family and relatives of the quadruple MVP came to the floor, with a tribute video published in stride. Then a hug with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar of course and the arrival of Adam Silver on stage for a speech. A unique moment!

At 38, LeBron James therefore adds a new line to his immense record and, from now on, the “Purple & Gold” will be able to move on, they who were beaten by the Thunder in this match, while this record was in all heads and had been in the news for several weeks. It’s a pity that this incredible feat ends in another defeat…
