A 49-year-old woman was found dead Sunday morning on the side of a road, near Quatre Bras de Tervuren, in Flemish Brabant. The driver committed a hit-and-run, says the Leuven prosecutor’s office.
“The lifeless body of a woman was found on the side of the road around 5:00 a.m. on Sunday,” said the spokeswoman for the prosecution, Julie Plevoets.
According to initial findings, the forty-year-old was the victim of a hit-and-run collision, car debris having been found at the scene of the accident, explains the prosecution. “Apart from the debris, there is currently no evidence to identify the alleged perpetrator,” said the public prosecutor.
A traffic expert, the laboratory of the federal judicial police as well as a medical examiner went on site to shed light on the circumstances of the fatal accident.
