Continuing our series of tips involving the TikTok Musicthe social network’s streaming service, today we’re going to show you how you can mute the app when you open it.
By default, whenever you do this, a song plays — just like when you open the TikTok app. If you want this to not happen again, it is fully possible to disable this behavior.
Open the TikTok Music app on your iPhone or iPad, tap the “Me” tab and then the gear (in the top right corner). Then select the option “Open or muted TikTok Music”.
With this, the application will no longer automatically play a song whenever it is opened on your device.
Bonus: blocking explicit content in the app
Some songs contain explicit content. If you don’t want to play songs that contain swear words or things like that, go to the same TikTok Music settings section, select “Explicit content” and check “Block explicit content”.
The process can also be done directly in the Mac app. Open it, click on your photo (in the top right corner), go to “Preferences” and activate “Block explicit content”.
