Through a video published on social networks, the owner of a business in the city of Cali showed the new method of counterfeiting that they are using in Colombia to deceive citizens.

The man says that they put a fake 50,000 peso bill in him, but he makes a comparison with a real one. There he commented that the paper used by criminals closely resembles that used by the Bank of the Republic for the printing of the national currency.

It also shows that not even the marker to detect counterfeit bills can recognize them. For that reason, he gave three ‘tips’ with which it could be easier to identify them:

  1. The paper of counterfeit bills is thicker than the traditional one, so it should feel a little softer to the touch.
  2. The hologram on the front should change color with light and give a higher shine immediately.
