While leading companies are trying to repeat the success of Steam Deck by releasing their portable consoles on Windows 11, Hyperkin decided to indulge in nostalgia.

The brand decided release the console is not for computer games, but a device that supports 16-bit Sega Genesis toys. Externally, the console resembles a large Sega 6-button joystick, in the center of which is the console screen. The new product was called Sega Genesis Mega 95.

The pocket version of the 16-bit set-top box offers a 5-inch display with support for two picture display modes in 4:3 and 16:9 formats. The device comes with a docking station with a USB-C output, allowing you to connect the set-top box to your TV. With its help, you can play together – for this purpose, the docking station has two ports for connecting standard Sega joysticks.

An interesting feature of the gadget is that it is not just a portable emulator console – the device supports running games from original SEG cartridges. The manufacturer reports that one battery charge will last up to 10 hours of battery life.

Price and Availability

The Sega Genesis Mega 95 will be available for purchase on the official Hyperkin website in the near future. Although the cost of the console has not yet been disclosed, the Hyperkin Super NES is similar in functionality now for sale for 120 dollars.
