The unforgettable young and joyful spirit of Augustine Fernandez remains in the memory of his mother Silvana Cappello. This Friday there will be a honk in memory of his birthday at Cipolletti. “I remember her happy, funny, happy, being her,” said her mother.
On July 5, 2022 Augustine Fernandez died after a brutal attack in a Cipolletti apartment. The cause was labeled as femicide since the alleged defendant and only defendant in the case is Pablo Parra, a neighbor of the young woman from Pampas who lived in the same complex.
More than a year after the femicide, her mother Silvana Cappello keeps the memory of her daughter alive in her memory. Today in commemoration of her birthday, she remembered moments that she lived with her daughter.

In Agustina’s family they had a WhatsApp group to communicate and share moments despite the distance. Silvana remembered that they shared in that group.
“We had a family WhatsApp group where the father, she and I were. Lately, as she was studying abroad, we communicated there. Sometimes we saw who sent the best meme. I would upload a photo of myself from the pole dance activity I do and they both laughed. Mariano edited my photo and she was always supporting me. She always made us smile, always positive, ”she expressed.
To remember her, her mother sent an audio message that Agustina had shared in the family group. There the young woman is heard singing with laughter in English. “This audio, playing funny telling us in English, she sent us from there, – in reference to Cipolletti – one day when she was studying a lot,” she recalled.

“There are a lot of anecdotes,” said her mother Silvana Cappello, and she recalled the day Agustina decided to be a donor.
«For her 18th birthday we gave her a little car to put it in her name. She was terrified of driving because she said she didn’t want to run over anyone, and then when she got her driver’s license she decided to be a donor. She said we were a box and once we were dead she was meaningless. She wanted to donate her organs, she was mature for her age. I remember her like this, always funny, always so her”.
