“I think we are going to suffer a lot”, the Mons-Borinage gas station attendants worried about the future!

From September 1, gasoline will go to €1.50/L in France. A substantial drop which will no doubt delight our French neighbours. This reduced price is possible thanks to a reduction in excise duties decided by the French State as well as a reduction granted by TotalEnergies in its service stations. It is a reduction of 30 cents which will finally be applied by the State. For its part, TotalEnergies has announced that it will reduce its price per liter by 20 cents at its service stations.

In Belgium, everything suggests that we will not be able to match these prices… If many are already planning to go and fill up in France, these are our border attendants who risk seeing their facilities deserted by customers…

“I think that we, the cross-border workers, will suffer a lot”: Sylvia Porcu, manager of the Total petrol station in Quiévrain, testifies

We compared gasoline prices at the border: here they are!
