ICE Agent Shoots Man With Child in Car During New York Arrest

A five-year-old child was inside a vehicle in the Bronx when federal immigration enforcement agents surrounded the car and opened fire, wounding the driver who now recovers in a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The shooting took place at approximately 4:00 p.m. local time on Thursday in Marble Hill, an area of Manhattan that shares a border with the Bronx. The injured man is currently receiving medical treatment for his wounds following the operation by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

Mayoral Condemnation and Demands for Stoppage

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani addressed the shooting on the social media platform X, confirming the presence of the young child in the vehicle during the confrontation. Mamdani described the operation as a reckless act and demanded an immediate halt to ICE actions within the municipality.

“Preliminary information indicates that agents surrounded him and a five-year-old child in the car and then fired multiple shots,” Mamdani wrote on X. He added that he refuses to stand by while ICE agents terrorize local communities.
