Interview with Joo Hyun-young in ‘Strange Lawyer Woo Young-woo’
“The circle is a wonderful friend, and my personality is different from my real one”
“Park Eun-bin, who was like a textbook, ‘Woo Young-woo’ teamwork is the best”
Actor Joo Hyun-young expressed her affection for her senior Park Eun-bin by conveying her feelings after successfully completing the drama ‘Strange Lawyer Woo Young-woo’.
In the recently popular ENA drama ‘Strange Lawyer Woo Young-woo’ (hereafter ‘Woo Young-woo’), which ended in popularity, Joo Hyun-young gained great popularity by playing the role of Won Won, a new lawyer with an autism spectrum, Woo Young-woo (Park Eun-bin). He was praised for lovingly expressing the character of ‘Tokki’ in his own way, who is sassy, but cheerful and honest more than anyone else.
Joo Hyun-young, who met Hankyung.com, approached the interview with a calm and timid tone, unlike what he had shown through broadcasts.
Recalling the circle in ‘Woo Young-woo’, he said, “Actually, I don’t express my emotions that much. I don’t usually get angry and have a blunt personality. There are similarities with the circle, but I don’t think it’s that honest and bold. Everyone was embarrassed, saying, ‘Why are you so quiet?'” he said.
As the most difficult moment while filming, Joo Hyun-young picked the scene where the circle went to the house of a relative who was in conflict over the inheritance issue and cursed and overturned the ritual.
He continued, “I sympathized with Circle’s heart, but I couldn’t even imagine it because I don’t usually do things that are so shocking. From the moment I received the script, that scene was a huge burden on my mind. It gave me a headache. I also thought that it would be a good thing if it was delayed. I tried to postpone it as much as I could.”
When asked if he would have become close if he had a circle-like friend in real life, he replied, “I think it would be difficult to get to know him easily.” Joo Hyun-young said, “Most of my close friends have the same personality as me. But I don’t stay away from circles, and I think they’re cool. ‘I can’t do that, but that friend does?’ It feels like this. The circle is not a friend who is not polite, but a friend who is cool enough. But if she were me, it would have been difficult for her to handle it,” she laughed.
The circle was the only shadow and friend to Woo Young-woo, who was bullied by his classmates when he was in school. Woo Young Woo became a lawyer at a large law firm and was erratic in the process of adjusting to society, but he kept by his side by giving his advice with all his heart. The ‘chemistry’ created by the two characters was one of the factors that raised the fun of ‘Woo Young-woo’.
Regarding the collaboration with Park Eun-bin, Joo Hyun-young said, “It was my first attempt at a drama with ‘Woo Young-woo’, but the first button seemed to fit well. So I was very happy,” he said.
He continued, “Senior gave me a lot of know-how and experience that he has accumulated.” He said, “If there is anything you want to do, do it. “He was someone I could rely on.” She added, “She was very shy and soft, so I was cute and tried to take care of her.”
The teamwork between actors Park Eun-bin, Kang Ki-young, Ha Yun-kyung, and Joo Jong-hyuk was the best. Joo Hyun-young said, “Everyone has a lot of love. It’s a part that I feel so fortunate and fortunate to be.” “They are not stingy in expressing themselves, so they honestly talked about thank you, I’m sorry, I like them, I miss you. There was a lot of consideration. It played a role of holding me up so that I could do everything I had to do. The harmony was good.”
The ‘Woo Young-woo’ team went on a reward vacation to Bali this time. However, Joo Hyun-young was unable to join due to schedule problems. Regarding this, he said, “It’s impossible to express in words that I’m sorry. It was enough to tell me to stop talking about my vacation. I also said, ‘Please don’t have fun except me’.”
But soon after, “We’ll see each other again anytime, so I’m trying to put in the regrets now.” “Even now (with the other actors) we keep in touch. We are busy doing different things, but we each talk about what we feel on the set, and in a serious way.
