Vinícius Júnior is back on track in the Champions League this season. After his two goals on Tuesday evening against Bayern Munich, no player has been directly involved in more goals in the million-dollar ball since the 2021/22 season.
The Brazilian has been directly involved in 31 goals in the past three Champions League seasons. This means he leaves behind names such as Kylian Mbappé, Robert Lewandowski, Erling Haaland and Karim Benzema. In the current Champions League season, Vinícius has already scored five goals and four assists in eight matches. He scored in the group stage against Napoli, Braga and RB Leizpig, and therefore in the semi-final against Bayern Munich on Tuesday evening.
Those were two very important goals for Real. Vinícius made it 0-1 early in the Allianz Arena. With a good running action he created space in the center, where the Brazilian then dived himself. A great pass from Toni Kroos only put him in front of Manuel Neuer, after which Vinícius coolly finished. Just before the end he made it 2-2 from eleven meters, where the return next week in Madrid will be decisive.
