In Elden Ring, we may have carried a strange and sinister character within us who was to become the lord of Elden

Elden Ring It is a huge game, and that is something that we all know clearly. Seeing the amount of content that it has, it is normal to be surprised to know that there are even more things that were left out, but that is how video games are. If a few weeks ago we talked about a pretty cool removed mechanictoday we have one of the quest chains most curious that could have been seen in a video game FromSoftware.

We all know the Mimetic tear, one of the most memorable bosses in the game (even if it’s because of its quirkiness), but also one of the summons that were the protagonists during the first weeks of the launch of Elden Ring. Although in the game we get it in a rather infamous way, original vision of the Miyazaki team was much more convoluted.

As we have been able to know thanks to the dataminers, and what they have told us the YouTuber Nullrinn, the original plans for the game gave a much more elaborate role to this mysterious entity. Under the name of Asimi, the Mimetic Tear would be a strange organism that would have inhabited your body to accompany you on your adventures.

The quest chain progresses with the twist that, given her nature, Asimi begins to copy you and ultimately decides to kill you to take your place as Lord of Elden, leading to a final match in which you have to kill your own clone and finally get the summon.

But of course, how do we know this? Many of the parts that make up this quest are still in the game, although without a specific use. With this in mind, it would not be unreasonable to think that the Elden Ring modding community would consider rescuing these items to restore the questline. Taking into account the work what they’re doing to add more content to the game, I wouldn’t consider it unreasonable in the long run.
