Al-Marsad Newspaper: The financial awareness specialist, Dr. Salem Bashmail, revealed the disadvantages of postpaid payment and the “Buy now and pay later” service.
The specialist said, in his interview on Al-Ikhbariya TV, that the postpaid service is a major reason for the price hike.
He added: In the case of deferred cash payment, the segment requesting the commodity will be larger and there will be greater demand, which will lead to higher prices.
And he continued: Selling on credit all over the world has effects, so merchants raise prices in anticipation that some people will fail financially and will not be able to pay.
He concluded: This issue is addressed through consumer awareness, and buying only what we need, and therefore there will be no pressure on demand and maintaining prices.
