Al-Marsad Newspaper: The researcher, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Lughbi, revealed the areas in which the rates of cancer are high in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, explaining that the “Asir” region is one of the most famous of these areas.
Al-Lughbi said, during an intervention with Al-Ekhbariya channel, that the southern region, over the course of 20 years, accounted for almost 13% of the incidence of cancer in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
And he continued, almost out of every 10 cases diagnosed in the Kingdom, one case is diagnosed in the south.
And he added, the increase that drew attention and was unexpected, is the great increase during two decades. If we divide it into administrative regions, then Asir alone increased by 230%, while Jazan, Al-Baha and others were 50 or 40%.
