Yesterday evening, the Syrian artist, Sulaf Fawakherji, announced her separation from her husband, artist Wael Ramadan, when she published, through her account on “Instagram”, a long influential publication in which she described the state of separation.
Solaf confessed her love for Ramadan despite the separation, saying, “I was not worthy of you enough… I swear that I have tried… and I swear that you were worthy of what is beyond love… and I was a child crawling… in front of a mountain no matter how hard I tried.”
She also asked for forgiveness from her husband for her mistakes and shortcomings: “Forgive me if I have sinned or fallen short one day…I know that your heart was built on love, generosity and giving.”
And she added in her lengthy message, “Wael Seddiqi, Abu Hamza and Ali, thank you to the Day of Judgment, and I love you forever and ever.”
The Syrian artist concluded her announcement with the tag “Separation”.
