The “Buhonera” is the area that has just been inaugurated and whose details were reported by Eric Quintanilla, President of the Student Executive Committee in the Academic Unit of Medicine

Tepic.- Eric QuintanillaPresident of the Student Executive Committee at the Academic Unit of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Nayarit (UAN), inaugurated an alternative recreational area that bears the name of “Buhonera”, which is where the snowy owls grow.
The area is for all students in general and is aimed at solving the problem of agglomeration of student recreation spaces.
With respect to mural that, like the Buhonera, were inaugurated, Eric provided more information. He mentioned that the doctor who appears on the mural is the Dr. Jesus Pena Lopez, who was once the Director of the Academic Unit of Medicine. It is also appreciated “House Fenelon”, which was the first campus where the Higher School of Medicine was located and where young university students studied their career.
Quintanilla explained that, in addition, the mural integrates other symbols of wisdom, such as the book, the Rod of Esculapio (Asclepio’s staff) that represents medicine. Also, the gestation cycle is clearly appreciated, as is the representation of a woman in a surgical uniform.
Regarding the resources to carry out the Buhonera, he pointed out that it was a donation from the Science Student Executive Committee, which is the administration of the student society of the Academic Unit of Medicine, with which 10 hammocks, that are installed from pole to pole, which support up to 2 people.
The hammocks are ideal for the rest of foreign students or for those looking for a place to study while they wait for their classes. In the UAN there are approximately 30 thousand students, being 800 medical students, Therefore, it is sought that there are more alternative recreational spaces within the University.
President Eric Quintanilla thanked the directors for supporting the student societies, to achieve more alternative recreation spaces and to add to a heritage that will be for generations to come.
