Nearly one million tourists of different nationalities have visited Tunisia since the beginning of the year until April 20, 2022, up 128% compared to the same period of 2021.
Compared with the same period in 2019, the number of tourists fell by 49%, according to statistics from the Ministry of Tourism.
However, tourist receipts have evolved by nearly 47%, to reach 659 million dinars (MD), while they remain below the receipts drained during the same period of 2019, showing a drop of 42%.
As for tourist overnight stays, they amounted to around 2 million overnight stays, up 108% compared to 2021, but down 50% compared to the same period of 2019.
