The incumbent Mayor of South Tangerang (Tangsel) Benyamin Davnie stated that he was ready to run for the Regional Head Election (Pilkada) this year.
“God willing, I and Pilar, who is also the incumbent Deputy Mayor, will pair up again in the regional elections in South Tangerang this year,” said Benyamin Davnie in response to Media Indonesia when contacted Monday (29/4)
“Our hope,” said Bang Ben, is that the people of South Tangerang, as they are affectionately known, will still trust them both to continue development in South Tangerang.
“I have also received a letter of assignment from the Golkar DPP together with Pilar to run for the 2024 South Tangerang regional elections,” he said.
However, Benyamin admitted that he and Pilar had registered with the South Tangerang PDIP Party to become candidates in the 2024 South Tangerang regional elections.
Last week, Benyamin was welcomed by the Chair of the South Tangerang PDI Perjuangan DPC, Wanto Sugito, DPC Secretary Toha, Chair of the Regional Election Selection Team Syamsul Hariyanto along with other DPC officials. Deputy Chairman of the Banten PDI Perjuangan DPD, Iwan Rahayu, was also present.

At this moment, Wanto Sugito appreciated Benyamin Davnie who had taken the form to register as a Regional Head Candidate in South Tangerang.
“This is a positive thing. Mr. Benyamin is a community figure and incumbent mayor who first registered with the South Tangerang PDI Perjuangan. “We will watch this process next, because registration will last until the end of April,” said Wanto.
“However, the South Tangerang PDIP registration process for Regional Heads will involve an interview and report to the PDIP DPP and then the DPP will decide to nominate who among those who register,” said Wanto when confirmed Monday (29/4)
Benyamin expressed his gratitude for the good welcome from the South Tangerang PDI DPC and hoped that in the future cooperation could be established. (Z-8)
