Adorable footage has been taken of a lioness showering her cub with tenderness in Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park. The four-month-old lion cub snuggles up to its mother and curiously explores the wilderness. This lion duo is part of the famous Zambian pack called ‘The Hollywoods’, known for their good looks and gorgeous genes and featured in several documentaries.
These wonderful images were captured by a British wildlife photographer, Nathalie Mountain. As he said, they met the herd earlier on the morning of the photo shoot, so they were able to witness them hunting a bison. But they failed to catch him, and a lioness, separated from her pack resting in the shade, returned to her cubs, whom she left safe under a tree at some distance.
“The cubs were very happy to have their mother back and greeted her with the usual rubs and licks. It is always a privilege to watch wild animals behaving naturally in their environment, especially when it comes to cute lion cubs. Capturing those fleeting moments that we miss in the blink of an eye is always so special and you can really see the bond and emotion between a mother and her little one.”
