India beat the Aussies

Captain Harmanpreet Singh’s hat-trick helped India beat Australia 5-4 in the Hockey Pro League. Captain Harmanpreet Singh scored three goals and Jug Raj and Karti scored one goal each for India. Belts, Vilott, Staines and Zalewski also netted for Australia.

This is India’s second consecutive win in the league. India defeated world champions Germany 3-2 in the first leg held yesterday. Currently, India has climbed to the second position in the league with 14 points from six matches. Spain is the first with 17 points in eight games. India will face Germany in the second leg on Monday.
