Muscat: Opening the door to Oman’s history, the ‘Oman Across Ages Museum’ will open tomorrow. The museum showcases the different phases of history, cultural and geographical diversity of the Sultanate.

Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, the ruler of Oman, will dedicate the museum in Manawilay, Dakhiliya Governorate, Oman to the nation. The foundation stone of the project was laid on July 14, 2015 following the royal decree of the former ruler, Sultan Qaboos bin Saeed.

The museum also has galleries, a library, an auditorium, cafes and research spaces. The sights are prepared for the visitors, starting with the first settlers in prehistoric times and going through the features of modern Oman.

From here, visitors can learn regarding the dynasties, civilizations and achievements of Oman from different eras. The Oman Across Ages Museum traces the country’s long history of remarkable economic, technological, political and social modernization under the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
