India Secures Unassailable Series Lead

India secured a commanding 121-run victory over Zimbabwe in the second women’s One Day International in Vadodara on Sunday, driven by twin centuries from Harmanpreet Kaur and all-rounder Deepti Sharma.

The win gives the Indian side an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. Batting first on Sunday, India posted a formidable total of 328 runs for the loss of six wickets, before restricting the touring Zimbabwe side to 207 runs in 48.5 overs.

Kaur and Deepti Anchor Innings with Centuries

Harmanpreet led the charge with a disciplined, aggressive knock, scoring 126 runs off 121 deliveries. Her innings featured 15 boundaries and marked her eighth ODI century, steadying the innings during a challenging phase. For her match-defining performance, she received the Player of the Match award, as highlighted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India on social media.

Deepti provided stellar support from the other end, remaining unbeaten on 106 runs from 86 balls, also hitting 15 boundaries. The pair shared a crucial 153-run partnership for the fifth wicket, which anchored the innings and carried India past the 300-run threshold.

Opener Pratika Rawal continued her strong run of form following her century in the previous match, contributing 61 runs off 67 deliveries to establish a solid foundation at the top of the order.

Bowling Attack Restricts Zimbabwe Chase

Chasing a target of 329, Zimbabwe struggled to mount a serious challenge against the Indian bowling attack. Vaishnavi Sharma led the bowling figures with four wickets while conceding 39 runs in 10 overs.
