Doha: Qatar’s Minister of Labor, Ali Bin Samiq Al Marri, has said that a clear strategy has been devised for indigenization in the private sector. He was speaking at a meeting of GCC labor ministers in Oman.
Indigenization in the private sector is part of ensuring better employment opportunities for skilled indigenes in the GCC countries. In the meeting, various issues such as taking forward the joint ventures of the Gulf countries, strengthening the labor market and ensuring the improvement of human resources were discussed.
The Minister of Labor of Qatar explained the need to warm up the discussions and cooperation related to the labor sector in the GCC. He also said that he will hold talks with the African Union early next year regarding the migration of workers from Africa
