Intermittent fasting meals – their number and the permitted and prohibited foods

Intermittent fasting is one of the most popular diet regimens that many people follow around the world, due to its great ability to lose weight and burn accumulated fats in the body.

This diet relies on fasting for 16 hours, and then eating within 8 hours, according to Dr. Waad Amin, a clinical nutritionist.

Amin recommended that the intermittent fasting breakfast should be rich in protein and fiber and completely free of carbohydrates, sugars and fats, to maintain blood sugar levels during the fasting period.

The nutritionist pointed out the possibility of eating carbohydrates at lunch, such as oats, bread and boiled potatoes, but if a person is obese or diabetic, they should be avoided permanently.

She explained that the best time for fasting is “from night until morning”, so it is advisable to have breakfast and lunch and give up dinner, to ensure more effective weight loss.
