Interview de Ion Hazzikostas : Patch 10.0.7 et l’avenir de WoW – World of Warcraft

Today I had the chance to participate in an interview with Ion Hazzikostas, director of World of Warcraft. Ion returned to Dragonflight patch 10.0.7, a not-so-minor update, but also some new stuff we might see in the future. I suggest you find the most interesting elements below.

  • THE dragon flight racing are appreciated, but Blizzard wants to limit it to fun for now. There is no question of getting into competition or eSports, even if some players would appreciate it. The studio is adding new features gradually so that the community has fun and there is still a lot to do.
  • For the talents dragon back flight, Blizzard is thinking on the one hand to improve functionality, but also to make life easier for players on a daily basis. This is the case with the new talents, one of which allows you to slow down sharply to land in very narrow areas.
  • THE Zskera Vaultsare primarily a feature of patch 10.0.7. If players love it, there’s always a chance it’ll go further with new rewards.
    • Zksera vaults do not require spending dozens of hours in game. As soon as you have enough to open all the doors, it’s good for the rest of the week. Again, players can give feedback and Blizzard will balance the zone if necessary.
  • Blizzard does not provide rewards for beta testers who complete certain actions. It is possible for Diablo IV, but the way it works in WoW, it’s not really fair to offer rewards. Beta access is indeed often offered by invitation.
  • Ancient rewards are sure to arrive in the Counter. This concerns elements that are no longer accessible.
  • The Onyx Annelet ring will be useful for all players when patch 10.0.7 is released. But when patch 10.1 comes out, players shouldn’t really need it in the middle of Season 2. Blizzard obviously remains attentive to what’s going on and will react accordingly if certain specializations benefit too much or not enough.
  • On the side of trades, Blizzard is thinking about the best way to allow players to stay on track. Blizzard wanted to add some real gameplay depth for players who like to dive into professions and the economy. The studio also wanted many players to take advantage of this, whether through professions or crafting orders.
  • Blizzard talks a lot about crafting orders and current limitations, player desires, and in-game possibilities. When you can’t find any orders to complete, that’s not a good thing. It is possible that in the future, the game will offer you orders to fulfill even if no player originated them.
  • A revamp like the Paladin Retribution is rare during an expansion. Don’t expect it to become a habit.
  • Class customization is an ongoing process. Other races will benefit from new features in the coming months. No major updates planned, but new possibilities.
  • Season 4 of Shadowlands was a great success. It is therefore possible that we will be entitled to fateful raids, or similar elements, at the end of Dragonflight. It’s hard to add new stuff at the end of a set, so it’s a way to add variety while waiting for the next set to arrive.
  • Encrypted content on test realms will continue as anything Lore related does not need to be tested. This will allow players to discover certain information at the launch of updates and not on the PTR.
  • Baine is featured in patch 10.0.7. Other characters will be featured in subsequent updates.

We’ll end with Ion’s favorite dish, which is still a very important question. For the moment, it’s the mushroom risotto that his companion is preparing for him. Otherwise, he enjoys many other dishes 😀
