The regime in Tehran continues to put pressure on the critical ex-soccer player Ali Daei!

On Boxing Day, the plane in which the family of the former Bundesliga professional was sitting was diverted to a stopover. Now Ali Daei (53) is worried about his wife Mona and his daughter, who were traveling to Dubai (United Arab Emirates) by scheduled flight. According to consistent agency reports, mother and daughter are said to have been asked to leave the plane on the Iranian island of Kish.

on Flightradar24 (Map) showed that the Mahan Air plane made a tight loop and then landed on the small island in the Persian Gulf. About two hours later, the Airbus A340 took off again and continued its journey to Dubai with a delay. The stopover was not announced.

A shock for Daei, who used to play for FC Bayern Munich, Arminia Bielefeld and Hertha BSC Berlin, among others. He told the AP news agency his wife and daughter left the capital Tehran legally. After the stopover, they were questioned by the authorities. Both were then released, but were not allowed back on board.

“I really don’t know what the reason for this decision is,” Daei told Iran’s Isna news agency. Next: “My wife and daughter wanted to travel to Dubai for a few days.” Now the center forward wants to see to it that his loved ones return safely to Tehran.

Daei’s family suffers harassment from the mullahs

According to the Iranian judiciary, Daei’s wife Mona has undertaken to inform the authorities if she leaves Iran. The travel ban is pure harassment, as the couple have repeatedly criticized the government since the demonstrations began. According to the judiciary, Mona is in contact with “groups opposed to the Islamic revolution.”

Ex-national player Daei is also being harassed by the mullah regime. He told the AFP news agency that his passport had been temporarily confiscated by the police. Also, his jewelry store and restaurant have been closed by government order!

The former athlete (107 Bundesliga games) is a folk hero in Iran. He campaigns for women’s rights and supports the protests that have erupted after the young boy’s harrowing death Kurdistan Mahsa Amini (22) have covered the whole country. Amini had broken Islamic dress codes and died in custody on September 16 after being beaten to death by vice officers.

International human rights organizations estimate that more than 450 people have been killed since the protests broke out. Thousands were arrested. The criminal regime does everything to stifle critical voices.
