Iran will not control parliament

Dr. Samir Geagea, head of the Executive Committee of the Lebanese Forces Party, confirmed in an interview with Al-Arabiya TV that “the Iranian team cannot continue to control the Lebanese parliament.”

The Lebanese Forces party was founded as an armed faction during the 15-year Lebanese civil war. He has repeatedly called on Iran-backed Hezbollah to give up its arsenal of weapons. The Lebanese Forces party won 15 seats in the 2018 elections.

Geagea stressed that “the Lebanese Forces party is at the forefront of the elections at the Christian level.”

“The Lebanese Forces Party has become the first Christian party in Lebanon,” he explained.
