Avraham Monder is the grandfather of the child Ohad, whom the channel met to talk about the conditions of his detention in Gaza. He said that he felt longing for his family and friends, and that he always remembered his father when he would whistle at him, joke with him, and play with him.
Monder said, “My grandfather Abraham used to play with me and hug me, so I feel pain and fear for his fate. I do not know every second that passes by what will happen to him. The 9-year-old concluded his speech by saying, “I want to say something to all Israelis: Think about your grandfather being in captivity. Would you not want him to return to you now?”
Monder was among those released by Hamas on November 24, after he was detained from the Nir Oz settlement with his mother, Keren, his grandfather, Abraham, and his grandmother, Ruthie, during the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation on October 7.
