Israeli Intelligence (Mossad) chief David Barnea threatened, in a speech delivered by Barnea at the annual conference of the Institute for Counterterrorism Policy (TIC) at Reichman University in Herzliya on Sunday, to assassinate Iranian leaders, in case Israelis and Jews are targeted by Tehran.
”It is time for Iran to pay the price for its terrorist activities. We will reach the depths of Iran and the heart of Tehran. Harming Israelis and Jews whether by an Iranian agent or a weapon smuggled into Israel will lead to operations against Iran,” he stressed.
The Mossad chief recalled that Israel foiled 27 Iranian attacks targeting Israelis in Europe, Africa and South America.
There was no immediate comment from Iran regarding the Israeli threats.
The Israeli official also affirmed that these operations will target high-level leaders.
A list of those affected along with their photos was published in the press release. According to Israel, Iranian leaders including Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib and the commander-in-chief of the Revolutionary Guards, Hossein Salami, are behind the operations targeting Israelis.
