Marjayoun – South Lebanon, January 21, 2024 (Xinhua) A member of the Lebanese Hezbollah was killed and 7 civilians were wounded as a result of an Israeli march raid on two civilian cars in the middle of the town of Kafra in the central sector of southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese military sources.
The sources indicated to Xinhua News Agency that “an Israeli march fired three air/ground missiles at a Rapid and a Kia car that were driving in the middle of the town of Kafra and a few meters away from a Lebanese army checkpoint.”
She added, “Ambulance teams and members of the Civil Defense went to the scene of the accident and worked to extinguish the fire that broke out in the two cars and completely destroyed the first car, while the second was severely damaged.”
She pointed out that “ambulances transported a body to Salah Ghandour Hospital in Bint Jbeil, and 7 wounded people, including a woman, were in serious condition to Tibnin Governmental Hospital.”
The sources said, “Israeli warplanes and drones launched a total of 20 air strikes targeting the towns of Al-Adisa, Taloussa, Bani Hayyan, and Kafr Kila in the eastern sector of southern Lebanon, Aitaroun in the central sector, and the towns of Burj Al-Shamali and Al-Bazouriyah in the western sector.”
The sources stated that “Israeli heavy artillery fired about 150 shells, including 35 phosphorus shells, towards 12 towns in the eastern sector, 6 towns in the central sector, and 3 towns in the western sector.”
She added that the bombing destroyed 8 homes and damaged 24 homes.
Hezbollah announced in several statements that its members carried out a series of attacks on Israeli gatherings and sites, including Ruwaisat Al-Qarn, Zarit, Al-Dhahira, Hunin Castle, Al-Sammaqa, and the Baranit barracks, confirming that “its members were injured.”
Hezbollah mourned one of its members, and a statement issued by it said that one of its members, called Fadl Ali Salman, “rose as a martyr on the road to Jerusalem,” without any additional details.
The confrontations on the Lebanese side since last October 8 led to the killing of 226 people, including 161 members of Hezbollah, 3 members of the Civil Defense, a soldier from the Lebanese Army, one member each from the Amal Movement and the Syrian Social Nationalist Party, 21 members from the Hamas and Islamic Jihad movements in Lebanon, and 38 civilians, including 3 journalists.
