A close associate of the Colombian star of Lebanese origin, Shakira, revealed the reason for her separation from Barcelona defender Gerard Pique.
Weeks ago, the two announced their separation after an 11-year relationship, and said in a joint statement that they “demand respect for their privacy”, due to what was reported about the Barcelona player’s betrayal of the mother of his two sons Milan and Sasha.
While press reports said that the reason for Shakira’s separation from Pique is treason, new reports revealed that a completely different reason, which is “money”, as confirmed by Spanish journalist Caique Calleja.
And the newspaper “Marca” quoted Caliga as saying that Pique requested a sum of money from Shakira to finance his investments, which she categorically refused after consulting her family, which caused a crisis between them.
The newspaper pointed out that throughout their relationship together, Pique and Shakira kept their money separate, and each of them bears half of the family’s expenses.
Roberto Garcia, who had a romantic relationship with one of Shakira’s sisters earlier, revealed that Shakira was rejecting the idea of marrying Pique, and that she was continuing her relationship with him only because he was the father of their two children.
The relationship between Shakira and Pique was cut off for a long time, but they continued to appear in public before the official announcement of their separation.
