Al-Marsad newspaper: The issue of “breasting the elder” sparked controversy between the preacher, Ahmed Al-Ghamdi, the former director general of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice in Mecca, and two tweeters.
One of the tweeters presented a question to Al-Ghamdi, in which he said: “Our sheikh, is it valid to breastfeed the elder?” To which Al-Ghamdi replied: “It is true.”
While a tweeter said: “Isn’t there a statement that it is a special case for Salem, the slave of Hudhayfah, and if it is for everyone, then how can breastfeeding take place?”, Al-Ghamdi replied to him, saying: “I differ in working with this hadith, including the saying that it is specific to Salem, the slave of Hudhayfah, and the response to that is that there is no evidence for the saying.” Specifically, Aisha took it and a group of jurists said it.
