The chaos is total this Monday in the Netherlands. A tornado killed at least one person and injured 10 people on Monday in the coastal town of Zierikzee in the southwest of the Netherlands, emergency services said.
“Unfortunately the tornado left one person dead and initial reports indicate around 10 other people were injured,” Zeeland provincial authorities said in a statement, adding that “emergency services are still busy assessing the situation. ‘impact’ of this rare phenomenon.
The tornado also caused property damage, uprooting roofs and trees, and smashing windows. “It happened in two minutes,” witnesses told the Dutch newspaper AD. “Chimneys have been blown away, roofs have collapsed…”, they add.
