Steve Jobs y Jony Ive They were a duo that marked the history of Apple like no other. Together they managed to establish an approach focused on design and user experience as fundamental elements in the company’s strategy. After Jobs’ physical departure, many believed that Ive was the natural successor. However, this did not happen and to the surprise of many, in 2019 he left the firm he joined in 1992.
Although Ive officially assured that he was leaving Apple to pursue other projects, there have always been speculations about the veracity of this reason. This 2023 will have been four years since Jony Ive left Apple. In some ways it seems as if the creator of many of Apple’s iconic products never left, and in others there is almost no trace of the features that represented his design vision.

Apple’s work today shows Jony Ive did not work alone and is one reason why his influence on the team of design within the company is still maintained. An example of this is the Apple Watch Ultra, an aesthetic and comfortable device that stands out for its insistence on real functionality.
After his departure from Apple, Ive has devoted himself to his design firm LoveFrom, of which Apple was a client. During that time, Ive continued to be involved in the design of Apple logo products such as the Vision Pro and the 24-inch iMac.
But as is logical, he is now dedicated to taking his passion for design beyond the world of technology. Thus, this year he was in charge of creating the emblem of the coronation of King Carlos III
Despite the comparisons, Ive will always be a reference when it comes to talking about Apple and his long career continues to be recognized. In April of this year, Jony Ive received the Edison Award for Lifetime Design.
