Janus Henderson Launches Blockchain-Native Nasdaq-100 Fund JQQQ on Stellar

Janus Henderson Launches JQQQ to Bring Nasdaq-100 Onchain

Janus Henderson and tokenization platform Centrifuge announced the launch of JQQQ on October 27, 2026, creating the first blockchain-native professional fund designed to track the Nasdaq-100 Index. Established as a segregated portfolio of Anemoy Capital SPC Limited in the British Virgin Islands, the fund directly holds constituent shares rather than relying on synthetic tracker certificates, bridging traditional institutional asset management with public blockchain infrastructure.

Structure and Issuance Mechanics

Unlike third-party tokenized wrappers that mirror assets held elsewhere in custody, JQQQ utilizes an issuer-sponsored model. Janus Henderson manages the underlying equity portfolio while Anemoy Asset Management oversees the fund. J.P. Morgan acts as the custodian. Portfolio dividends are automatically reinvested rather than distributed to holders.

Technology accounts for 68.01% of the Nasdaq-100 index, with the ten largest constituents representing 46.86% based on September 30 data cited in product documentation. Consequently, Centrifuge classifies the fund’s risk profile as high. Buyers hold tokenized fund shares rather than direct legal equity in individual corporations like Apple, Microsoft, or Nvidia, meaning investors carry no direct shareholder voting rights.

Subscription Terms and Network Infrastructure

The fund operates exclusively on the Stellar network, joining a growing ecosystem where real-world assets surpassed $4 billion in 2026. JQQQ targets non-U.S. professional investors under strict eligibility requirements. Subscriptions require a minimum investment of 100,000 USDC, though USDT is accepted with potential conversion fees.

The fund features an expense ratio of 0.10% with zero entry or exit fees. Subscriptions and redemptions process on a daily cycle with an expected T+1 settlement timeline.

Current Operational Status

While formally announced, the product remains in a seeding status on the Centrifuge portal and is not yet open for live subscriptions. Nasdaq has licensed the use of the Nasdaq-100 index for the vehicle, though Nasdaq does not issue, sell, promote, or endorse the fund directly. Developers and institutional participants anticipate that native onchain issuance will allow fund shares to function as collateral across digital financial applications once deployment concludes.
