JeepOn February 17, the new “Grand Cherokee』(Jeep Grand Cherokee) announced the European specification car. In Europe, plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHVs) “4xe“(For Bye) is set only.
The PHV powertrain of the new “Grand Cherokee 4xe” is a 2.0-liter in-line 4-cylinder gasoline turbo engine with a direct injection engine. A water-cooled motor generator unit will be used instead of the conventional alternator. The motor was designed integrally with the 8-speed AT. The entire PHV system, which combines the engine and motor, gains 380hp of power and 65kgm of torque.
In electric mode, the powertrain runs at zero emissions until the battery is low. In urban areas, it can drive up to about 51km with zero emissions.
