US President Joe Biden plans to run again in next year’s election. However, he said on the NBC show “Today” that he was not ready to officially announce this. Biden had already mentioned in a private conversation in the White House last year that he wanted to stand for re-election.
The Democrats had already indicated in advance that they wanted to support Biden despite his temporarily weak approval ratings – and that before Biden even spoke about a possible second candidacy. The fact that Biden plans to run again was considered uncertain when he took office in 2021 due to his advanced age. At the 2024 presidential election, the current President of the United States will be almost 83 years old. That’s why Vice President Kamala Harris (58) was considered a possible candidate for the upcoming presidential elections.
