Former Genk and Anderlecht coach John van den Brom has been sacked at Al-Tawoon in Saudi Arabia. The club was defeated on Thursday by its direct competitor in maintenance, Al-Ettifaq, and is relegated, 14th out of 16 with 4 days to go from the end of the Saudi championship. John van den Brom was appointed on March 31, signing a contract until the end of the 2022-2023 season. The 55-year-old Dutch coach was sacked from Genk in early December 2021 following disappointing results. The former Dutch international also coached Anderlecht between 2012 and 2014, as well as AZ, Utrecht and Vitesse in the Netherlands.
