Almost a week after the largely favorable verdict for Johnny Depp in the trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard – ordered to pay him 15 million dollars after being found guilty of defamation – his sister Whitney Heard Henriquez wanted to send him his support in a message posted on Instagram.

Yesterday, today and tomorrow, I will always be proud of you for standing up for yourself, for testifying (…) and for being the voice of so many people who cannot talk about the things that happen behind closed doors” , wrote Whitney Heard Henriquez on the social network.

“You stood up and spoke despite everything. I am so honored to testify for you, and I will do it again a million times because I know what I saw and because forever, the truth is on your side. I am so sorry that this was not reflected in the decision of this jury, but I will never give up on you, like all those who have supported you. By your side forever…”, she further encouraged, believing that the “cards were against” his sister.
The two Hollywood stars, married from 2015 to 2017, were both found guilty of defamation after a six-week high-profile trial, where each of the two parties accused the other of domestic violence, revealing turn in turn the most sordid details of their life as a couple. But the judgment turned out largely in favor of Johnny Depp, since the actor was ordered to pay only $ 2 million to his ex-wife, against 15 million for Amber Heard.
At the origin of the trial, a column published in 2018 by the Washington Post and in which Amber Heard presented as “a public figure representing domestic violence”, without naming her former husband. Johnny Depp then sued him for defamation, believing that the Post article had greatly harmed his career.
