A big sum, even knowing that this sequel should cost more than the first opus, the director and the star of the film having been greatly increased: Phillips and Phoenix should each earn $ 20 million thanks to Joker 2 (against 4.5 million for the actor on the first opus), and Lady Gaga, 10 million. In return for this tax saving, the team undertakes to hire employees in California, which should bring in several million dollars for the state. The California Film Commission calculates precisely that the 18 films which have just obtained this tax reduction should in the end earn them 915 million dollars.
