People’s Power Joo Ho-young, Speaker of the National Assembly, Kim Jin-pyo greets the new floor leader [국회사진기자단]
People’s Power floor leader Joo Ho-young asked National Assembly Speaker Kim Jin-pyo not to bring to the plenary session the proposal for the dismissal of Foreign Minister Park Jin proposed by the Democratic Party of Korea.
Joo met with Chairman Kim at the National Assembly Speaker’s office this afternoon along with floor leaders such as Seong Il-jong, chairman of the policy committee and Song Eon-seok, senior vice-president of the floor, meeting with Chairman Kim this afternoon.
After the meeting, floor leader Joo told reporters, “I strongly told reporters that the proposal of no confidence in Minister of Foreign Affairs Park Jin should not be brought forward without a discussion on the agenda.”
“The foreign minister negotiates and negotiates with countries around the world to protect the national interest on behalf of the Republic of Korea,” said floor leader Joo.
Minority Leader Joo said that Chairman Kim Jin-pyo recommended that he “work as hard as possible in consultation with the Democratic Party” in response to such a request.
The floor leader Joo replied, “I haven’t considered it yet” to a question about plans such as filibuster or absenteeism if the proposal for dismissal of Minister Park is presented at the plenary session.
