Is your last song “Al-Baghdada” a great success?
The song has already managed to achieve great success in less than a month after it was shown on the famous video site “YouTube”, and its views have exceeded more than a million views so far. It is written and composed by Aziz Al Shafei, and distributed by Wissam Abdel Moneim. In fact, I am very happy with the success of the song, and I am more than happy with the reactions I felt about this success, and this is what I found from the people I met, who praised the song and its special atmosphere, especially after it was filmed in a video clip with director Jad Choueiri.
Tell us about the song and the details of its selection and preparation?
I have long wanted to work with Aziz Al-Shafei, especially since he is one of the very distinguished people, and his works speak for him, as he is, as they say, a “teacher” in the art he presents. While I was in Egypt, I met him, and during that he offered me between 20 or 30 songs. But when I used to listen to these songs, I found myself focusing on the song “Al-Baghdada” and in the end I chose it.

But the song presented you completely differently, what is the reason?
It is the touches of Aziz Al-Shafi’i. He was able to get the song out of me in a different way. During my choice of the song, I decided to record it in Lebanon. Aziz Al-Shafi’i contacted me and told me that he would come to Lebanon. After his arrival, he asked me to re-record the song again, and I discovered its time while I was re-recording the song. , that Aziz wanted to show a certain artistic taste in the singer with whom he collaborated, in addition to his desire to show a new way of singing that I had not presented before.
You presented many types of music, so have you thought about presenting folk or rap?
I have no objection to presenting these types of singing, because I am a singer and I can present more than one color, and all that I presented was a combination of romantic and rhythmic songs, and I succeeded in presenting them, such as the songs “Except You” and “Taeb Al-Shouq”. As for the rhythmic songs that achieved success It was “oh all the world”, so it is possible to offer anything similar to me.

Does this mean that you can cooperate with a popular singer or rapper during the coming period?
I am open and accepting of any idea related to the artistic field. There is no word “forbidden” in my dictionary, and I am not confined to a specific template. The color of rap and festivals occupied an important space among people and became required, just as the goal is always to make the audience happy, and I believe that these colors make them happy, and there is no I don’t mind collaborating with any popular rapper or singer, provided the level of work is good.
Why did you decide to return to the Egyptian market with the song “Al-Baghdada”?
All Arab singers know how important and difficult it is to enter the Egyptian market, due to the diversity and different artistic colors in it. Being in Egypt has always been a goal for us. The Egyptian market is very important and we always say that it is one of the most difficult places for an artist to enter. due to the diversity and different tastes, and the Egyptian audience is a good listener and taster of art. I also wish to participate in the Arab Music Festival, which is organized annually by the Egyptian Opera House, as it is a large and very important singing music festival, and participation in it is a strong addition to any Arab artist, and I am very happy to sing in it, although I did not receive an offer to participate in the activities.
Why did the news spread about your retirement during the last period?
Any artist usually experiences many mood swings, which may lead to his thinking of moving away, but he quickly backs away. Until now, I think about it, and there are struggles, but there are small periods of them, but they soon disappear, but in general I am happy and I will continue. I don’t think retirement will happen.
Are you thinking of presenting a work using artificial intelligence, which has spread widely recently?
There is no substitute for humans and the human element, and I do not like artificial intelligence and the idea of singing with it, because I personally see that anything artificial will not provide people with something real, and there will always be deficiencies in it even if it is distinctive, despite what artificial intelligence and robots offer, it will remain There are many things that only a human will provide. If I did not go to the studio, and sit with the distributor, composer, and writer, and we worked hard and worked hard, we would not feel the song as it would be presented by artificial intelligence.
You have one acting experience, have you thought about returning to it again?
Indeed, I presented a single television experience 15 years ago through the series “The Neighbors”, and the truth is that I do not consider it an acting experience, because I appeared with my true personality, “but I love the world of acting and would like to enter it professionally during the coming period. I have received many artistic offers recently, but I apologized About it because it is inappropriate, or that the time of filming these works coincides with my preoccupation with recording songs or my association with concert dates.
Are you preparing for a lot of new business?
I am currently preparing three new songs in different dialects, including the Lebanese dialect, which was composed by my friend Nabil Khoury, with whom I collaborated before on several songs, and also a song in the Gulf dialect, as it will be romantic, and it will be filmed as a video clip. Romantically or popularly, in addition to preparing a new duet. In fact, I am happy with that work, but I will not reveal its details now, and I have contracted to revive more than one party in a number of Arab countries during the summer of 2023.
