According to the soccer world on the 25th, Ulsan supporters ‘Cheoyong Warriors’ have been carrying out a truck protest targeting the Korea Football Association in front of the soccer center in Jongno-gu, Seoul since the 23rd.

The Cheoyong Warriors displayed protest signs on the truck’s electronic display board, including ‘Firefighters only when necessary, coach Hong Myung-bo is not public property’, ‘K-League is not a toy of the Korea Football Association’, and ‘Discussions on appointing K-League head coach of the national team should be canceled.’

This is because Chairman Jeong Hae-seong, who took over as the new head of the Football Association’s National Team Strengthening Committee, appeared to be planning to appoint an active K-League coach as the national team’s head coach after the first meeting on the 21st.

They will continue their truck protest in front of the Korea Football Association until the 26th. Previously, on the 24th, a condolence wreath was sent to the Football Association. An additional truck was also sent to Yongsan Station, where Korea Football Association President Chung Mong-gyu’s headquarters for HDC Hyundai Development Company are located.

In particular, the Cheoyong Warriors plan to show their support by holding a truck protest containing slogans supporting Coach Hong at the site of the 2024 K-League opening media day on the 26th.

The Cheoyong Warriors made an official statement on social media and said, “We condemn the incompetence of the Korea Football Association. “Please do not pass on the responsibility of the association’s administration to the K-League anymore,” he said, adding, “We strongly condemn the appointment of all active K-League coaches, including Ulsan coach Hong Myung-bo, as the national team’s head coach.”

He continued, “The association does not feel any sense of responsibility and is trying to evade responsibility by using the K-League coaches as a shield,” and emphasized, “We will not hesitate to make any effort to protect the K-League coaches.”

Cheoyong Warriors also mentioned the case of coach Choi Kang-hee, who led the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Brazil.

In 2011, coach Choi Kang-hee, who was leading K-League 1 Jeonbuk Hyundai at the time, was brought in as a firefighter after national team coach Cho Gwang-rae was fired, and only took charge of the national team until the Brazil World Cup qualifiers.

Regarding this, Cheoyong Warriors pointed out, “As a result of focusing only on solving superficial problems, it has left a huge scar on Korean soccer fans, including the K-League,” and added, “The association is now trying to repeat the mistakes of the past and hurt K-League fans once again.” “They are doing it,” he said.

At the same time, he warned, “We demand that the discussion on appointing an active K-League coach be invalidated,” and added, “We will be willing to take any collective action to achieve this.”

Meanwhile, the Football Association held the second Power Strengthening Committee meeting at the Football Center on the 24th and decided to hold the two-game 2026 North and Central America World Cup qualifier against Thailand next month under a ‘temporary coach’ system.
