During her speech, the vice president will seek to define herself to voters by telling her personal story, contrasting her optimistic vision with Trump’s “darkness” and basing her ideology on a strong patriotic sense, according to a source close to the preparation of the speech.
Following Kamala’s speech, a shower of balloons and confetti in the colors of the American flag will fall from the roof of the convention stadium, as happens at every party convention.
By accepting the nomination, Harris will mark a milestone in American politics by becoming the first woman of African-American and South Asian descent to receive the presidential nomination of one of the country’s two major parties.
