New Delhi: Strong fight from Kerala to Congress working committee. Kerala leaders are making strong moves to get a place in the working committee. AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal has confirmed his position in the working committee. AK Antony and Oommen Chandy will resign from the membership of the working committee.

Ramesh Chennithala, Shashi Tharoor, Kodikunvil Suresh and others are in their place. Antony and Oommen Chandy are excluded due to illness. The leadership has a proposal to make them special invitees in the working committee. President Mallikarjun Kharge will take a decision after discussing this with Sonia and Rahul.

Oommen Chandy will step down from the post of General Secretary in charge of Andhra due to difficulty in travelling. Party leaders indicated that President Mallikarjun Kharge has reached a rough agreement on the names of the Congress Working Committee members. After the return of Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi who are abroad, the announcement will be taken into consideration.

Kharge is confused about who to include among Ramesh Chennithala and Shashi Tharoor. Both are important leaders but belong to the same community. With the addition of KC Venugopal, only one community will be represented. This increases Suresh’s chances in Kodikunnu. Since no working committee has been formed, the steering committee is now performing the duties.
