American actor Kevin Spacey, who is being tried in London on charges of committing a number of sexual assaults, continued on Friday to deny the charges against him, indicating that the relations he had with some prosecutors were “with their consent” and involved “romanticism.”

Spacey, 63, whose trial began in London in late June, pleaded not guilty to 12 counts of sexually assaulting four men between 2001 and 2013, especially in 2004 when he was director of the Old Vic Theater in the British capital.

The four men accused of assaulting Spacey have previously testified at Southern Crown Court in south London. They all recounted in detail the sexual assaults they said they had suffered, and explained the difficulty of exposing such a powerful star as Kevin Spacey.

On Friday, the actor continued to deny the accusations. In response to a question addressed to him by Attorney General Christine Agno, Spacey indicated that the relations he had with two of the plaintiffs were “consensual.” One of these two men accuses Spacey of assaulting him while he was driving a car, while the second man asserts that he was “drugged” before the assault.

Regarding the statements of the second plaintiff, Spacey replied: “I do not know who took the first step, but we were together with his consent and in a romantic position… He did not sleep and I did not have sex with him while he was sleeping, despite the shocking accusations he made against me,” considering that the prosecution file “ weak”.

Spacey said the third plaintiff “made up the story he told from start to finish” and accused the actor of having “grabbed too tightly” the intimate part of his body.

On Thursday, Spacey denied, when giving his testimony for the first time during the trial, that he had committed any “violent”, “aggressive” or “painful” behavior.

He confirmed that there was a mutual flirting relationship between them, saying of himself that he was a “great flirt.” Pointing out that the accusations broke him, he said: “When in 2017 the first accusations appeared on the Internet in the United States, I lost my job and my reputation. I lost everything in a few days.”

In October, a New York court acquitted Spacey of sexual harassment charges brought against him by actor Anthony Rapp on allegations dating back to 1986.

The trial of Spacey, who won two Oscars for his performances in “American Beauty” and “The Visual Suspects”, is expected to last about a month.
