Kim Jong Un threatens the country’s enemies with a fatal blow

Korea – North Korean leader Kim Jong Un confirmed that the unstable geopolitical situation surrounding his country means that the time has come to prepare for war more than ever before, threatening the country’s enemies with a “deadly strike” if any provocation occurs.

According to what Western news agencies reported from the North Korean News Agency, Un’s statements were made during his inspection, yesterday, Wednesday, of the main military and political university in the country, which bears the name of his father, the late President Kim Jong Il, who died in 2011.

“If the enemy chooses military confrontation with the DPRK, it will deliver a fatal blow to the enemy without hesitation by mobilizing all the means at its disposal,” the Korean Central News Agency quoted Kim as telling university staff and students.

The Korean leader added, “It is time to prepare for war more than ever,” stressing that his country must be “more resolute and fully prepared for the war that must be won, and not just for a possible war.”

According to Agence France-Presse, Kim appeared in partially blurry photos published by the North Korean News Agency, surrounded by army officers, inspecting what appears to be a small model of the South Korean capital and a number of maps of different areas of the peninsula.

The result of the legislative elections that took place in South Korea yesterday was disastrous for President Yoon Suk-yeol, who took a hard-line stance towards the northern part of the Korean Peninsula, while improving his relations with Washington.

The landslide victory achieved by the liberal opposition parties in South Korea would put the president in a bad position during the remaining three years of his term, according to Agence France-Presse.

The center-left Democratic Party, the main opposition party that achieved a significant victory, supports a less aggressive approach towards Pyongyang, which possesses nuclear weapons.

According to the same agency, this result constitutes good news for Kim Jong Un, especially with the possibility of former US President Donald Trump returning to power next November, according to analysts.

Experts say Trump, who held historic but ultimately unsuccessful summits with Kim during his presidency, could strengthen rapprochement with Pyongyang if he returns to the White House.
