LR Teschl-Hofmeister: Modern learning and play worlds for our children
St.Pölten (OTS) – Representing State Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner, Family State Councilor Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister opened the construction of two new kindergarten groups, including a second exercise room, in the center of Brunn am Gebirge. “Thank you to the market town of Brunn am Gebirge for being a proactive partner, together with the state of Lower Austria, in expanding childcare for our families. The extension offers the children modern learning and play environments and at the same time provides the teachers with a functional working environment,” says Teschl-Hofmeister. The state of Lower Austria is supporting the project through the Lower Austrian School and Kindergarten Fund with interest support amounting to 424,859 euros. The extension was built in timber frame construction and has an air heat pump and photovoltaic system.
With the “blue-yellow care offensive”, the state of Lower Austria is opening a new chapter for families in Lower Austria. First of all, kindergartens will also be open to two-year-olds from September 2024. This closes the gap between the end of the maternity leave period and entry into kindergarten. Secondly, free morning care offers have been available for all children aged 0 to 6 since September 2023. The third key point is a comprehensive care offering with longer opening hours. Fourthly, the group sizes will be reduced and the staff-child ratio will be improved and fifthly, the closing days were reduced last summer. “The state of Lower Austria and the municipalities will spend an additional 750 million on expanding childcare in the coming years,” concluded Teschl-Hofmeister.
