The report on the cultural status of the King Abdulaziz Library revealed the implementation of a number of different digital projects, which in their entirety constituted an increase in the number of digital channels, with the application of standards for the quality of digital services and the automation of procedures that enhance the fields of archiving in various scientific ways.
The number of the library’s digitized cultural heritage holdings reached 63,476 copies, through the digital transformation initiative.
The library has also developed its technical infrastructure and added a backup storage capacity periodically to keep pace with the rapid growth in digital services and procedures, as the number of processed requests in electronic services reached 103,997 requests, while the number of visitors to the various digital portals reached 418,515 visitors.
The King Abdulaziz Public Library supported its knowledge archive with the latest advanced technologies in order to accommodate the rich cultural material that the library includes, especially with regard to the national memory of creativity and history, and what is related to the Arab and Islamic heritage.
On the occasion of International Archives Day, the library plays a major role in archiving its holdings, which are made up of various sources of knowledge. The library, during its work to preserve a unique archive, has absorbed digital transformations and the great development in preserving information, as well as the acquisition of various materials such as books, documents, rare photographs, maps, coins and coins.
