Klagenfurt brings back right-back Straaudi

Austria Klagenfurt brought Simon Stradi back to Carinthia. The right-back, who was last under contract with Werder Bremen, switched to the Bundesliga club on a free transfer. 23-year-old Straaudi signed with Klagenfurt until June 2024, as Austria announced on Thursday.

The South Tyrolean made it into the top division with the club in the summer of 2021 as a regular, but returned to Bremen following his loan contract ended.

“Valuable” Player

“We followed his development in Bremen and are happy to have him back with us. He will be valuable for us because he is very versatile and has internalized how we want to play football,” said Klagenfurt’s sporting director Matthias Imhof regarding the returnee.

At Werder, Straaudi was in the professional squad last season, but did not play a minute with the promoted team from the second German league. He was primarily in action for the Bremen amateurs in the regional league.
