Riyaz hacked Rinsey Nasser to death at around 7.30pm on Thursday night in Mangaraparambil, east of the Eriot block. The housewife, who was going home with her children on a scooter, was hit by a bike and mutilated. Riyaz is a former employee of a clothing store run by Rinsey.
Rinsey had 30 bruises on his body. Defendant Riyaz escaped after the incident. The children who were with Rinsey at the time of the accident escaped unharmed. Rinsey’s fingers were amputated in the attack. The face was also hunted. The locals came to know about the incident after hearing the cries of Rinsey’s children who were shocked by the violence.

Police say a woman trader was hacked to death in Nadu Road due to a previous feud. The accused Riyaz (25) was an employee of Rinsey Nasser’s (30) clothes shop in Mangaraparambil. Riaz was fired after he began interfering with Rinsey’s family affairs. After this, Riyaz constantly harassed Rinsey, demanding that he return to work. But Rinsey was not ready to take it back. Police said Rinsey was killed out of resentment.

Riyaz attacked Rinsey on her way home on a scooter with her four- and eleven-year-old children. Riyaz, who was following them on a bike, overtook their scooter, knocked them down and stabbed Rinsey in the face and hand with a sword. Riyaz fled when he heard the cries of his frightened children and saw the madrassa teachers coming through. Rinsey was later rushed to hospital but died the next day while undergoing treatment.
